Working with Couples – Clean Dialogue

Couple therapy, whether with partners, parents and children, friends or colleagues, often brings difficult and complex dynamics into the counselling relationship. How do we resist becoming entangled, while maintaining a focus on the emerging processes that occur in the therapy situation?

This is the first in a new series of short CPD workshops entitled PSYCH-BYTES, which provide opportunity to acquire practical skills that can be adapted to your counselling practice.

Workshop details

  • PSYCH-BYTES: Working with Couples – Clean Dialogue (download flier)

  • Date: 8th June 2019 | Saturday 12:45 to 3:45 PM

  • Cost: £50 (deposit not required but see booking policy for terms)

  • Venue: Toxteth Library, Windsor Street, Liverpool, L8 1XF (parking nearby)

In this 3-hour session we explore the use of identifying and clarifying the relationship problem(s), ‘clean dialogue’, working here and now, merging and difference, and managing nervous systems.

This is an experiential workshop, offering a mix of theory and experiment, with opportunities to try something new (personal choice to participate in the experiments, or not, will be respected).

This workshop, which offers practical skills, is best suited to counsellors and trainees from a humanistic theory background although it is open to practitioners from other approaches.

Booking policy: I don’t ask for a deposit, just a commitment that you will attend. You pay the full amount on or before the day of the workshop, either by cash or bank transfer. However, if you book a place and then cancel more than 48-hours before the workshop’s start time, you’ll be required to pay half the cost. And if you cancel within 48-hours of the workshop starting, or do not turn up on the day, you’ll be required to pay the full amount.
