Workshops

Drawing on my teaching experience gained in former roles as counselling tutor and lecturer, I create and facilitate CPD workshops designed to help counsellors and trainees develop their therapeutic awareness and skills.

These workshops cover a range of themes from an introductory level to explorations of more advanced concepts. Rather than being purely intellectual, they are experiential, giving participants a real taste of gestalt therapy in action. I also run occasional workshops for the public.

Continuing Professional Development

The intent of these CPD workshops is to share some of gestalt’s fascinating theory and practice with counsellors and therapists from outside the gestalt community. Consequently, they are designed to introduce basic concepts and cover a variety of themes, and are delivered with a mix of lecture, experiential exercise, and discussion. They are ideal for humanistic counsellors and trainees, although participants from other approaches are welcome too. Details of each can be accessed on the main drop-down menu as well as via the links on this page.

Usually my workshops take place in the Liverpool area, although sometimes further afield too, depending on demand. Generally, they are held on a Saturday, with the cost varying between £50 and £75. Handouts and CPD attendance certificates are always provided. Occasionally I also run workshops for the public.

Over the years, I’ve provided CPD workshops for Telford Mind, North Staffordshire Mind, Macclesfield Mind, University of Chester, University of Salford, University of Liverpool, University of Huddersfield, Listening Ear (Liverpool), Off the Record (Manchester), The Simeon Centre (Bolton), Bolton College, Compass (Liverpool), Holyrood House (Thirsk), Pathways Community Counselling Service (Warrington), Cheshire Therapy Centre (Warrington), Shrewsbury College, CTCPD Training (Liverpool), Wigan and Leigh College, Liverpool Airport, Teeside Airport, Robin Hood Airport, and Jo Edwards Training (Liverpool), as well as running regular private workshops in the Liverpool area.

If you manage a counselling agency, or are part of a group of qualified counsellors or trainees, and you’d like one of these workshops delivered in your area, please contact me.
